Once upon a time a Connaught giant and a Leinster giant got angry with each other. The Connaught giant was getting the worst of the fight and he had to run. The Leinster giant picked up a stone more than three tons and threw it after the Connaught giant but missed him.
The rock has lain in the north end of Clonark five miles from where it was thrown.
