  1. Once upon a time there lived a Saint whoes name was St Ciaran and he lived in Clonmacnoise. One day he went to a king and asked for alms. The king would not give them. The St said to the king that he would want for things before he would die and he wanted for a great deal of things. Then the St went out in a field and threw a rock and it fell beside the village of Nure.
    The distance he threw it was two miles and the mark the marks of his hands is on the rock yet.
