  1. There was a famous thatcher in Clonown named John Gallagher. He took up the job when he was about sixteen years of age. His foot was hurted about four year ago and he did not thatch any more.
    The implements he used were a mallet, scollops and a ladder. He was vey quick at that work and all who hired him liked him well. He could make very nice baskets also. The implements he used were rods and a knife. He was noted for his great strength.
