    a twig, and he leaves a hole on the top of them for a scollop to go through. He uses hazel scollops, and a mallet of timber, and he uses oaten, and wheaten straw. He starts at the bottom, and continues putting on layer, after layer until he comes to the top. Each layer is held on by a scollop being laid across it, and two scollops bent double driven through the thatch. A row of bobbins are put on on top. When it is finished he trims it with a shears.
