    Patsy Creavan Church Park Taughmaconnell B.sloe walked from his own house to Loughrea (Co. Galway) and back in one day. This was done 40 years ago. This man is still alive.
    Singer Mick Glenn Breeoil Dysart Ballyforan who is dead was a well known local singer at all local gatherings 40 years ago.
    Thomas Finneran (Matty) of Coolfree Taughm. B.sloe was a noted dancer.

    Mrs. Flynn, Gatestown carried 4 cwt. of potatoes from her own home to a market in Athone a distance of 6 miles Irish. She also carried 4 cwt of meal home with her.
