  1. St Patrick's day falls on the 17th of March.
    We do not know for certain that St Patrick's birthplace but it is probable he was born in Scotland. His father was a magistrate in a Roman colony.
    Having been taken captive by Niall of the Nine Hostages and having spent six years as a slave herding cattle on Slemish mountain in Antrim he escaped and made his way back to his family.
    On Easter Sunday morning he presented himself at the court of King Laeghaire at Tara
