  1. There is a beautiful holy well in Ballyvourney, it is nicely situated in a piece of ground owned by Meiberrys (Protestants) About ten yards from this well there is a grave yard. There is the ruins of an old church, and a protestant church in this grave yard.
    The patron Saint of Ballyvourney district is Saint Abby, when Saint Abby was going to Ballyvourney she stopped, at Henmount to take a drink there, was a stone near the well, and she knelt on the stone to take the drink, and the print
    of her hands and feet are still to be seen there.
    People perform "rounds" there on Whit Sunday, and on Saint
