The entrance or the hole which is in the middle of the fort is now closed up with stones as pigs were going down there. There were many stories connected with this fort in olden times. Music was supposed to be heard playing and cocks were supposed to be heard crowing and the people believed that fairies were there. It is said that these forts were built by the danes or by another race called the Tuatha Dé Dánnans. The Lepracaun used be also seen there. The fort at Woodfield connects with one in Clonmoyle.
