  1. Chandlers.
    One man used to make penny dips and tallow candles about forty years ago. He was called "Riordan, the chandlers, and lived on the southern side of the main street.
    There was a local sale.
    Within living memory candles of a sort used to be made in moulds in country districts whenever a cow was killed for eating by the farmer.
