In Macroom years ago there were six coopering shops with 2 or 3 journeymen in some. Now there is one only left, and he does scarcely anything. He keeps a small shop, and is a newspaper correspondent for "The Kerryman".
The articles that used to be made were
tubs
"keepers" - or flat milk vessels
water-pails
milk-pails
"skimmed &c
