    holes.
    There were different kinds of leather manufactured:
    Harness leather.
    'Brogue' leather.
    Shoe leather or "kips" &
    Calfskin leather.
    "Harness and brogue and kip leather were made by "bark" process, while in the manufacture of calfskin, a chemical called "seumac" was used.
    The bark was obtained partly at home, and from or through England.
    Disposal.
    The finished products were despatched to Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Limerick, Galway and chief towns of Munster. They were sent by train; horses were constantly engaged in taking carloads to the local railway station.
    The greater part was sent in huge rolls like paper. The calfskin, which was blackened on one side and like "chamois" on the other side, was packed in boxes.
