  1. A man was one time working at a farmer's house not far from here. It happened one night that he had to "stay up" with a sow and a litter of bonhams, which were in the kitchen. Just as the clock struck twelve a strange thing happened. The farmer's cock came to the window and crowed many times. The man was frightened and he at once put out the light and went to bed.
    In the morning when the family came downstairs they found the sow and bonhams dead. It seems that the house was built on a path used by the fairies in going from one lios to another.
