  1. (continued from previous page)
Your castle, a square tower large and fine,
Surrounded by walks, trees and bowers,
    It stands by Sullane crystalline
By your streets are its ivy-clad towers,
Your town-hall is delightful to see,
Standing proudly in centre of square,
    Where business and pleasure alternately
Pass the hours very pleasantly there.
Your banks are there, too, to behold -
How they bring to our cheeks the rich bloom,
when we think of the wealth there untold,
We are able to spare in Macroom.
Still onward thro' life here we're going,
Sometimes fighting, but friends again soon,
With the storms of fat round us blowing,
We'll hold out to the last in Macroom.
