  1. Cill-Cera, on Cera's Church, once a primitive cell, was founded about 1465 by Cormac McCarthy, Lord of Muskerry, for Franciscan Friars. An account will be found in lake Wadding's "Annals Minorum", vol xiii, Rome, 1735. The founder's tomb was formerly near the high-altar, in the choir, but no trace of it now is to be seen. At the southside is a large altar tomb to Denis McCarthy, Ballea. Here is also the tomb of the celebrated Anthur O' Leary, who was outlawed for shooting one Mr Morris in St Peter's Church lane, Cork, because
