How I love to remember those bright days of yore

    (continued from previous page)
    III
But, I soon had to roam from my own native home
And sail o'er the deep raging sea
And leave friends behind, that were loving and kind
And the colleens that dearly loved me
Bid farewell to the groves where so often I roved
Or poached by the light of the moon
But I hope once again to see that domain
Mount Massey the flower of Macroom.
The above poem was composed by a man named LEARY.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
