    On the 11th October 1898 five young men set out to sea in a very big boat.

    broke. The boat was dashed against the rock and it was broken. Two of the men got into the boat again. It drifted away all night. The next morning it was found somewhere near Bantry. The two men were just dead. The evening of the disaster the shouts of the drowning men were heard round the neighbourhood.
