It is a sign of storm to hear the shores at night. It is also a sign of storm when the white line is in the sea, and when the telegraph wires are whistling. March comes in like a lion And goes out like a lamb. If the new year's wind blows south, it betokeneth warmth and growth. If west, much milk and fish at the sea. If north much cold and storm there will be. If east the trees will bear much fruit. If north east, much flee in man and brute.
