Long ago it was said that there was a witch on Knockoura hill in a place called "Cumer Cam." There was a road going near the place where she was. Anybody she saw going through the road she used to attack and kill them. It is said that a witch could never go near any thing hot. One day a man wanted to go through this road and he did not know how to pass her. He got an iron bar and put it into the fire and he left it there until it was red. After a while he started on his journey and brought the iron with him. As he was passing the place the witch came as usual. He beat her off with the iron and after that she was not seen for weeks. She was never again seen afterwards.
