  1. A woman lived in Kilcatherine long ago whose name was Peg Murphy. She earned her living by selling eggs as most people did at that time. She used to travel to towns far and near and sell her eggs. One Summer's morning at about three o clock this woman started on her journey to Cork. She carried a basket of eggs on her back. After two days she returned home again. She had walked to Cork and back again during that time.
