An Cailleach Beara
It is hundreds and hundreds of years since the people of Coulagh heard of this so called bird which they think came down from the mountains and rested on a rock on Coulagh for one night and then went to Kilcatherine. The print of her foot is on the rock yet and will be for ever. The water that rests on the spot will cure warts and it will never dry.
The bird is the shape of a woman in Kilcatherine and she has a basket on her back and the old people say that it is a basket of eggs.
