  1. No account of any giant having ever frequented this locality. However, there is evidence of one of Fionn Mac Cumhail's famous feats.
    On the way out to Dursey Sound, between the townland of Scriomóig & Gleann na Ráth is a long deep gorge thro' which the main road passes. It is called Forthair Caol or Furkeel Gap but should not be confused with Furkale Harbour. Really they are part of the same "crack" across the peninsula & are connected by a ravine called Gabhann.
    The hill on the Scriomóig side of the Furkale Gap is called Foisteán, because it rises
