  1. Following are some of the games which seem to be peculiar to this locality:-
    MAITÍN BUIDHE:
    A sod of earth is put in the middle of the road & a stick is put standing in it. Two line, one on each side, are drawn about 20 "spans" from this stick.
    Two teams are chosen, one for each line, & each player has "his man" - an opposite number on the other team.
    A second stick is procured, preferably a crooked smután of furze, & one player throws it at the standing stick. All players must "toe" their line
