  1. The Gaidhleann according to local tradition is supposed to have lived at Oileán Aolbhach which is situated off the headland of Rinn which is at present the property of Dan R. Sullivan of Scriomóig.
    He had a boy working for him who used to go to a fuarán in Cill Chinnlachain Cathair Mhór for water to temper the steel. Once he used the blood of rats for tempering the razor for some man who found his first and second tempering faulty. The razor was finally so sharp that it shaved off the man's skin along with his beard.
