  1. One time there was a sprid in Brackcluin and on a certain Sunday one of the O'Sullivans went west to fight her with a blackthorn stick. She came before him and she asked him would he fight her. He said he would. At it they went. They fought with two sticks and they fought for a long time and at last the man beat the sprid. Then she stretched out her hand to him and said "Thanks be to God I am free now, as I got a living person to beat me."
