The potatoes are first "slitted" to make them seed-potatoes. Then they are sowed.
The potatoes are sprayed with a mixture of eight lbs of sulphate of copper and ten lbs of washing soda dissolved in forty gallons of water. The workmen pick the potatoes in our farm, and after school we all help in the picking of them. We store them in pits.
The kinds of potatoes we grow are:-
Kerr Pink, Champion, Aran Banner, Epicure, Aran Kierab, King Edwardm Aran Chief and Aran Victory. The potatoes that we grow best for us are Aran Victory and Kerr Pink. Long ago when there was no starch potatoes were used instead.
