  1. Potatoes are the most important crop grown on our farm.
    My father sows about 3 roods of potatoes every year, sometimes the amount varies.
    My father prepares the soil for the potatoes by first ploughing it or digging it. He then harrows it and afterwards makes ridges or drills for the slits.
    On some occasions the soil is manured about three or four weeks before it is ploughed. The manure is spread on the soil.
    About 45 or 50 years ago wooden ploughs were used in this district.
