  1. Thatching
About a half-quarter of a mile from our house a man called William Glennon lives.
He is well known all over the district as a good thatcher.
He charges six shillings and six pence a day for thatching.
This thatcher lives in the parish of Kilmaine, in the townland of Corroy, in the Barony of Athlone in Co. Roscommon.
I got the above folklore from my mother who got it from her mother -
    Mrs. Isabell Kennedy,
    Carrigeen,
    Co. Roscommon.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
