    There are many grown-up people in this district who never go barefooted all the year round.
    It is said that one should not wet the hearth when washing one's feet at night because it is said that the fairies sit round the fire when the people of the house are gone to bed.
    Most men in this parish are able to repair shoes and boots as there is no shoemaker in this district
