  1. Local Heroes.
    There is a man living in the Parish of Fuerty in the village of Emlagh whose name was John Kilroe. he saved a mans life named Tom Keegan from drowning. The two men were crossing the Suck in a small boat going to work. The boat, suddenly capsized and only John Kilroe could swim and he carried the other man safely to the bank.
