  1. A red woman sat up late one night preparing wool while all the family were asleep. Suddenly a woman came to the door and knocked and called out "Open, open" "Who's there" said the woman. "I am the witch of the one horn" answered she at the door. The door opened and a woman entered bearing on her forehead a horn and in her hand a pair of wool carders. The two sat at the fire in silence and began to card wool. Then a second knock was heard on the door.
