    The people make many toys of their own especially the children. They have been thought by their parents how to make them. The most common toys are whistles. They make them out of many articles. They make them out of horse-chestnuts by clearing out the middle, and out of a corn stalk before it is threshed. By putting a green blade of grass between the hands and blowing through it, a sound like a cock's crow is made.
