  1. In our district there are fields bearing the following Irish names:- "Páirch an móinéir, páirch na ceardchan, an páirch fhada, an pháirch íseal agus páirch na carraighe.
    "Páirch an Móinéir gets its name from being always a meadow. Páirch na ceardchan - because there was an old forge in that field long ago.
    "Páirch fhada" gets its name because it is the longest field in the land. "Páirch na Carraige" gets its name from its numerous steep rocks and boulders.
