    Then the I.R.A. carried away their dead on doors. Some of the I.R.A. bodies were found in turf ricks. After this the I.R.A. returned to their far away camp at Granure.
    When the "Tans" heard what had happened they came to Kilmichael and as they passed the place they yelled and cried after their dead friends. The "Tans" left many valuables after them which were taken by the I.R.A.
