  1. In and out of the sea's low booming
Comes the croon of past revelry
And in and out thro' the scudding mists
Comes a white sail, gossamer, free.

Out of sheer rock hewn, stands the Castle grim
Dún an Óir, the fortress of gold
It lies to the west of St. Kieran's strand
To this day, both staunch and bold.

For years, it has guarded its treasure trove,
    For ages, fierce storms defied
And each Christmas-Tide, its ancient Hosts,
Hold high revel, with pomp and pride.

But of the evening's dusk, in the Sunset's glow
Comes a galleon, straight from the West
With sails flowing white, like the Christmas snow
Like a ghost, on a ghostly quest.

Like foam it floats, on the water's breast
'Till it moors 'neath the Castle's walls
And at midnight, its crew of eerie men
Bear rich treasures within its walls
