  1. There is a farm in dear old Ireland
Near a place called sweet Coolboy
It's there I spent my childhood days
    Among the fields with glee
Till poverty soon came over me
    I'm sorry for to state
Like many more good Irish men
    I was forced to emigrate
    To leave the shamrock shore
To cross the foam from my Irish home
    The land I did adore
Our hearts were sad and the weather was bad
It caused our crops to fail
To better our lot we're leaving the cot
    In dear old Granuwail.
