    The name of my townland is Coolbawn in the parish of of Caheragh in the barony of "West Carbery" There is about fifteen houses and about sixty-four people in it. There is about four old people there. There is one of them able to speak Irish and his name is Mr Ó Driscoll, Coolbawn, Caheragh, Drimoleague. The other three are able to tell stories in English There are three "coulaghs" in my land. The meaning of the word Coolbawn is "White corner" That name was put on it because I supose there was a white flag there long ago. The names of the old people are Mrs MacCarthy, Mrs Ó Driscoll and Mr Ó Driscoll
