  1. The local landlord of Shountullig was Mr. Baldwin. Evictions took place in the district a few times. The evicted people lived in huts till they got back their farms. I did not hear how the landlord or his ancestors first came into possession of the land. Tithes were collected by the Protestant clergymen in former times. They were usually collected in money. I never heard of any stories about tithes.
