  1. Long ago there was a huntsman living to the east of Bantry. One day he went out hunting and on his way he met a beggar man, who asked him for a hare that he had in his hand. The huntsman said he would not give him the hare, and the man said to him, "May you never see the light of day again."
    It was very late that night when the man was going home. On his way home he sat down to take a rest. After a while he got up and he looked for the hare, that he had left down behind him. He could not find him and after a while he saw a white cat a good distance away with the hare
