  1. Long ago there lived an old hag near Adrigole. It is said, that she had a son, and that he was as big as a giant. One day the old hag and her son had a quarrel between themselves, and the son ran away from her. She followed him until he came to the sea.
It is said that the son jumped across the sea and landed on the other side, which is at Tráigh Chaol. The old hag got angry at this, and she caught a large rock, which was near her on the strand, and threw it after the son. It is said, that he barely escaped it, as it landed near where the son landed. This rock is to be seen, in the same place as it landed on, up to the present day, and it is known as "The Stone of Cailleach na Gadhail."
