CahirkeemLong ago a treacherous man lived in Urhan. The people of the place told him to go out to a rock in the middle of the sea. When he was out a little distance, the people followed him. When they reached the rock they killed him and threw his body into the sea. His body came into "Cathair Cuím" hence the name Cahirkum. His head came into another little townland and it was put up in a spike. This place is called "Árd a Cluigeann". The rock in which this killing took place is called "Carraig Fhíll".(continues on next page)- Collector
