    And no better ever trod,
    True by good example he did lead
    The way to the Almighty God.
    His witty words I'll hear no more,
    Or with him converse sweet;
    He was well read versed in lore
    His equals were hard to meet.
    Friends will miss his sound advise
    And his warm clasp of hand,
    His voice, so clear, so sweet and nice,
    His discourses so enobled and grand.
    And in the service of thy Lord,
    With age he had grown hoary;
    May Heaven above be his reward
    With a crown of glory.
