  1. Béal Átha Mógha na gCrann

In the famine years Indian meal was distributed in Ballymoe. One man from Kilsallagh was returning home with his little supply on his back. He met a man who asked him where he had been and he replied:-

I mBéal Átha Mógha na gCrann -
    Baile gan gortach
An té nach mbeidh annsin in am
Beidh sé an lá sin 'na throscadh
