Bill Duffy was a great blacksmith and he ran short of money and he never could have enough. The devil appeared to him one day and asked him would he sell him-self. Bill said he would if he got enough money. The devil gave him twenty one thousand pounds and seven years and at the end of the seven years he should go with him. Bill agreed to go with him at the end of the seven years. Bill built a new house and got into high company. He lived very extravangantly and the twenty one thousand pounds were spent before half the time was up and he turned to be a blacksmith again.
