  1. There was a game called "jack-stones" played long ago with five stones. When the children were selecting them they would make sure to get five lime-stone pebbles. If their mother saw them playing with a white stone called the "quartz" stone she would stop them. When they would ask why they should not play with that stone she would say that every time they played with it God's little finger would bleed.
