- Local Feasts
The seventeenth of March is the feast of St Patrick and it is the custom to go wear shamrock on that day. On palm Sunday people wear blessed palm. It is the custom to eat eggs on Easter Sunday. On St. Stephen's day the boys of the neighbourhood dress up in funny clothing and go about from house to house singing and gathering money. On Ash Wednesday ashes are put on the people's foreheads to remind them that they are only dust and ashes and unto dust and ashes shall return.- Collector
