  1. Local Poets.
    Rev. P.J. Neary, Elephen is a poet and he sends his poems to the Almanac. His neice, Maureen Neary, Grammar School, Elphin is also a poet. PJ. Browne, Ruskey is another poet and he also sends poems to the Almanac. The only local poet in this district is J Thompson, who resides at Seramogue, Co. Ros., and who wrote a great song about the Scramogue Ambush. This poet is still living and he is a farmer.
