“Once a man was going home from rambling, who lived in Cullaghamore, and he heard a noise...”
Once a man was going home from rambling, who lived in Cullaghamore, and he heard a noise like the crying of a child over his head and he said "Deiremocustromic" and a child fell into his arms. On his way home he had to pass by a neighbour's house. He heard the household all crying and he went to the door to see what was the matter. They said their child was dead, but then the man knew it was the good people that had taken their child and had left something in the form of a child in the bed but the parents knew it not. Then the man told him that he had their child and to get a stick and root that thing out of there.- Collector
