“There was once a wedding in a house in this district and the good people he proposed to take away the bride during the night.”
There was once a wedding in a house in this district and the good people had [?] proposed to take away the bride during the night. To do this they had to take away a strong man to help them. On the night of the wedding they all took their place on the roof of the house along with the extra man. The feast started and the bride was there enjoying herself through the night. The sign for the good people was when the bride sneezed they were to take her.
It happened a while afterwards that the bride did sneeze and no one said "God bless us". The man shouted from overhead "Arrah hang it! why didn't some of you say God bless us". The man by saying this saved the bride and the fairies were so vexed that the flung him down on the table and fled.(continues on next page)- Collector
