  1. Churning
We have a nice new churn at home. It is a cylinder in shape with a revolving dash. It is a made of cedar wood and stands two feet high. There is a dash with a handle to it.
The churn holds ten gallons. We churn the cream only. In winter butter is made once a week but in summer two or three times a week. My father and mother do the churning and I help sometimes.
In summer the churning is done very early in the morning when the air is cool in winter it is usually done before mid-day.
Sometimes a neighbour may come in while the churning is in progress
