    always wear shoes in Winter. There are no shoemakers or cobblers in this district.
    The people buy their shoes in town and mend them themselves. Clogs are worn by the farmers in cold weather. They are very comfortable and warm. Leather was never made in this district.

    We churn about twice a week. We have a large churn. It is made of oak. There are six hoops on it to keep it together. It is about four feet high and two and a half wide. The lower part of the churn
